The Pompeii Archaeological
Park, mapped.
Know the ground before you walk it.
This interactive map lays out the Pompeii Archaeological Park as it stands today: the Forum at the heart of the city, the broad grid of its main streets, and seven of its most important places, from the House of the Faun to the Amphitheatre. Tap or click any marker to open a short description of the site with its Italian name, then use the map to plan the walk.
Every pin sits on the real geography of the park: the Forum west of Via Stabiana, the Villa of the Mysteries outside the walls on the road to Herculaneum, the theatres in the south, and the Amphitheatre in the far east with the Large Palaestra beside it. The route you trace here matches the route you will walk on the stones, and the whole plan is drawn inline in the page, so no images ever need to load. The map works with a tap, a click, or the keyboard: pins are focusable, and Escape closes an open balloon.
Tap or click a numbered marker to open its details, or hover over one on desktop. Zoom with the buttons, the mouse wheel, pinch, or double-click, and drag to pan. Zoom in past 2x to reveal streets and minor monuments. Escape closes; only one balloon opens at a time.
